How to list only a kind of group

Hi everyone,

We have a lot of kind of groups within our organisation but i have a request for listing only the organisational groups starting with ORG. I need to list them according with the following colums:

Group ID Group name Domain AD group ID AD group name

In this respect wouyld you be so kind and let me know what is the SQL code in order to find all ORG groups within our organisation.

Oracle or Sql Server? Also, it is not clear what you mean by ORG. Are you wanting to provide a portion of the name get a list of any groups that start with that name?

Hi Cristian,

If these groups belong in the KUAF table, you can find them with some simple SQL.

Let's say I wanted to find only groups (Type column = 1) that started with "Default", this is how I would do it in Oracle:

SELECT * FROM KUAF WHERE TYPE = 1 AND NAME LIKE 'Default%'

I am using a simple wild card, meaning any text name that starts with Default, and is part of a group (and not say a user), will be returned.

MS SQL should be the same syntax.

Optionally, you select specific columns rather than SELECT *. Best practice is that when you build out a report, you select the specific columns, and not just everything.

I don't know where you could possibly have the AD group name/ID, as it can vary based on what you have installed or are actively using (Directory Services, OTDS, etc), so you may need to optionally join on another table, or even link another database, and then do a join.
