Record Retention Schedules

Hello,

Does Content Server 16 support any integrations for creating and updating Record retention schedules? I was unable to find them in WS api documentation but may have missed something, just want to confirm.

Hi Lucy,

Sounds like Records Management territory. Did you find the RM WS API reference? It’s over with the RM-module specific documentation rather than with most of the other WS references so sometimes it’s not easy to find. Here’s a direct link:

Hello,

I remember looking into this a few years back and it was not possible. You can apply/assign an RSI to a managed object, but you cannot create/edit the actual RSI itself via Web Services. Perhaps this feature has been recently added, I’m not sure off the top of my head, but I don’t believe it has.

Both RSI's and RM classifications are usually done using the RM Import/Export functions in admin.index.Almost everything in RM starts at a lower system and promoted using

simple xml based methods. I remember making a 4 level classification structure by doing the entries in excel and making them into XML after observing one XML structure.It bit me as

the RM is a validating DTD so if you go that route you have to do that.My guess is most of the RM Web Services and PO webservices are functionality targeting the affected objects but not

to deliver the "building blocks" themselves.Could be wrong it has been several years I last looked at one.Interesting a big name in RM Skupsky used to provide a file that could be sucked into livelink.

What you may see as "IRCH Retention Manager". The RM XML also is a one way thing that means once you make it ,if you want to change it you have to edit it by hand

and also if you have nested RM Class then if you don't provide the parent DOM elements it will not work...(like a child classification can only be made if the parent class was created first)
