RE Hiding Empty folders from grid in both classic and smart UI 2
Kyle_Swidrovich
If you're doing an Oscript customization, you could implement a Filter Node callback which would allow you to apply your own permission model as to who should or should not see the empty folders.

The "common denominator" of Classic and Smart UI (which needs REST API) is in OScript, where container browsing is implemented: LLNode.NodeListContents, LLNode.NodeListContentsByPage and LLNode.NodeListContentsByPageAndFacets. I doubt, that there is public interface to customize them, but others may correct me.Other possibilities how to hide the empty folders would be using faceted browsing and virtual folders, or live reports, maybe search results with advanced queries.
