Hi All;

I am wondering if someone might be able to help me. I've started looking into the Perspective Manager and subesequent widgets... I can't not seem to find very sustainable documentation and while the help has provided some answers, I find I keep coming up with new questions.

1 - Under the Widget Library, why would I be missing the xECM widgets - specifically Metadata

2 - I've managed to find some information out about OTWS (OpenText Widget Services)... Is this the same for the Smart UI, or a different module for the CS modules?

3- Is there a way to create a widget?

Hi,

1) The xECM widgets should be available in the Perspective Manager when you install the Connected Workspaces module. There should be a Connected Workspaces grouping added to the Widget Library which allows you to add the Metadata widget. Typically, for Connected Workspaces, the Perspective Manager is launched from the Connected Workspaces admin page so you might want to check the Connected Workspaces Smart UI documentation for more info.

2) Not 100% sure but I think that is a separate product.

3) Do you mean creating a new custom widget? If you want to create a new widget for the Smart UI you can use the SDK. The latest version is available here: https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll?func=ll&objId=70657525&objAction=browse.
