Hi...im working on CS16 and I want to put comments next to a document name but in a smart ui, i can do it on the classic view I am now trying to figure out a way of making them appear in smart view as well, any idea on how to do that???
Hi there,
I am wondering the same thing. Was there an answer to this question?
Thanks,
Jenn
Do you mean the description (single editable property of the object) or comments (list of comments from multiple users)? I think, that you mean the object description, which appears as "comment" in some applications.
You can edit the description in Smart View on the "General" tab in the Properties panel. You open it by clicking on the ."Information" icon; the first one on the toolbar.
As soon as there is at least one object with a description present in the browsing table, you will be able to make the descriptions visible using the "Show description" icon in the top right corner of the widget. Object descripotion is displayed with a smaller font size below the object name.
Hi,
I mean the comments from multiple users. In the classic UI we can see a Comment link on the browse screen for each object. In the Smart View we only see the Comment Icon (bubble) for the folder we are currently browsing, but not for each individual item.
Smart View

Classic UI

Just realized my screenshots did not come through in my reply from yesterday. I am trying to figure out how to get the comment icon to show up for each item in a browse window in Smart View. We can only see the comment icon for the folder we are currently in, but not for any of the subitems within that folder.
Same question. How to enable comments feature (pulse) on all items/documents in list view in Smart View? Currently comments are available only on the folder which is displayed.
You need to enable the custom column "Comments" in containers, where you want to see the commenting column. You can enable it globally/cascading too. You will find the column in the root of the Facet Volume.
Thank you Ferdinand, that worked!
