Can you PLEASE make the Shutdown/Continue/Cancel dialog pop to the front?

I've been meaning to ask this for a long time. If, when starting up Eclipse, you click something to the foreground at the wrong time, the modal dialog asking if you want to shutdown, continue or cancel goes to the back, and nothing in the taskbar indicates there is a popup waiting for an answer. This includes if you have eclipse itself back to the foreground. It sits there doing nothing with only experience to tell you it's blocked on that dialog waiting for an answer.

Could you please make it go to the foreground?

Hey Eric,

If you minimize the Eclipse window you will find the modal message behind the main application.

This looks like a commom Eclipse behavior when you click outside a modal.

However, maybe there are other modal types that we could use to avoid this misleading behavior. We will investigate it ;-)

For users accustomed to how MS Windows dialogs work, it's annoying. A standard Windows modal dialog forces itself to the front and also shows in the taskbar. Both are visual indicators that something is blocking the process from completing.

I have trained myself to a) not click around when OClipse is starting up and b) recognize when it's not doing anything to minimize everything to look for a modal dialog, but it should at least show in the task bar. A standard modal dialog is easy to locate from the taskbar at least.

It's been a long time since I have done any Windows development, but based on the behaviour, it sounds like this dialog has been created as a modeless dialog box. They have their uses, but it seems like a proper application modal dialog box is what is needed here. Is this possible within the Eclipse framework?
