We are in a situation wherein we need to grant Read Access to a set of users in entire livelink Livelink 9.7.1.
Currently, the system does not have a specific group which has Read access all over the environment. Applying Read permissions for a group across all the items would take months. We would like to know if there is a smarter way of doing this.
We are thinking about the following approach:
1. Create a Group and add such users to this group.
2. Modify these user accounts to have System Administrator Rights.
3. Override existing functionality (patch) to return/display Read Only Permissions (instead of all) for any users having System Administrator Rights and belonging to Group (created in Step 1)
We are not sure how to go about this and how many places we need to override the code. Can someone help us out in this?
If there is any other better/smarter way, then please let us know.
