Programmatic creation of Supplemental Marking

Does anyone know if there is a way to programmatically create a supplemental marking in v16.x. There appears to be CWS operations and WebReport sub-tags to assign them to a user and an item and remove them, but nothing available to create them programmatically.

You can use webservice rmsecmanagement. Look to OT_directory/webservices/cs-services-rmsecmanagement/RMSecManagement.svc

Thanks Pavel for your feedback. I have looked at the service and it provides operations for retrieving details about assignment of Supplemental Markings to a user and to an item, performing the assigning of them and removing them, but not creating a Supplemental Marking.

That is the Oscript equivalent API probably not exposable in SOAP but a WR Tag can be made if needed if the command does not yet exist in SOAP or REST one can write it as well

What @"John Simon" explained is there is a Oscript call for doing that . OT under web reports folder has a ‘ Hello World’ tag . So essentially you will need Builder or CSIDe attached to a working livelink server as you cannot do any remote debugging. Then you will follow the studying code and with your knowledge perfect the WR Tag . It is probably a 30 minute or less job for someone knowing Oscript but if you are a starter one’s mileage will vary.

Is there no REST api call for this as you know Rest api can easily be called from a WR and it only takes 5 minutes to study rest api if you can install postman. The difficult part is to see if OT has made a rest or not.I am pretty sure they have because if the SmartUI offers RM calls it uses the Rest api.

I have checked the restapi Documentation and they only allow you to add or remove supplemental Markings from users or objects, There doesn't seem to be a call to create a new SM codes. This could be because the ability to create SM codes is in the Admin pages which does not have a smartUI.

I will check out the Ravenblack Blog.
