How are menu items added to the object menu as shown on a metadata page i.e. Properties page in Smar

Hi,

Having added custom menu items to the 'otherToolbar' & 'inlineActionbar' as illustrated in the "Rename" sample, it was expexted that the same menu items would be automatically extended to the object menu as shown on a metadata page i.e. Properties page.

What are the additonal step to include custom menu items to this menu also ?

Each toolbar or context menu has its own extensibility. We don't have an extension point "global" yet, but it is likely, that we will introduce one.

If you want to put a menu item for your command to the meader menu in the metadata widget, you need to:

1. Create a new module supplying the new menu item(s) for the metadata widget.
2. Register the module for the metadata header context menu.

For example, in the Rename command, you would create "rename.metadata.header.menuitems.js" similar to the existing "rename.header.menuitems.js":

  return {    dropdownMenuList: [      {        signature: 'yourext-rename',        name: 'Your Action'      }    ]  };

Then you would reference it in the "yourext-all" bundle index to make in publicly loadable and finally you would include it in "yourext-extensions.json" to make the metadata widget load it:

    "csui/widgets/metadata/header.dropdown.menu.items": {      "extensions": {        "yourext": [          "yourext/commands/rename/rename.metadata.header.menuitems"        ]      }    }
