identifying encrypted emails in Content Server

Hello,

I am trying to see if there is a way to query our Content Server database for encrypted mails. I found that I can search the table ‘otemailproperties’ on the field ‘signedencrypted’, however I only wish to find encrypted emails, not signed. Is there a way to do this?

I don't think there is a way, currently.

The field you identified is one of the only ways of doing this, and it's a bit ambiguous.

I took a look, to see if DCS was extracting anything meaningful, that you could make into some parameter/region for search, but it looks like it can't read any encrypted emails:

So, it may have to be a feature request, or similar, from our dev team, if feasible.

Hi Nizar,

I also found out that regardless of being digitally signed or encrypted, Outlook turns these emails into having an attachment called "smime.p7m" so no way to differentiate unless like you say Content Server could actually look inside those attachments to see if it's encrypted or signed.

I ended up opening a ticket with Support so I will be suggesting a feature request.
