Hyperlink displayed as text

Hi all,

We are upgrading from 9.7 to 16.2 and all the reports with hyperlinks which were working in 9.7, display the links as text in 16.2.

We have been using Autolivereport and this format in SQL throughout ('!~<a href="https://<hostname>/otcs/livelink.exe/properties/' ||
dtree.dataid || '">' || dtree.dataid || '</a>')

Please help.

Your 97 server must have a customized autoreport-run.html This is a well known hack that's known to the community.LL OOB will not understand the ! operator as escape sequence.

If you search on auto livereport you will see threads that explain the working. This used to be in popularity before the advent of web reports.

I have made it working in old CS servers but don't know if it will work in 16 code but you could try Jquery as well.

Hi Shruti,

Links won't be live for Auto LiveReport output beacuse the data values that are output are web escaped first. The < and > characters are converted to their equivalent HTML escape values.

I checked and this has always been the case as far as I can see. Is it possible that the 9.7. system had a weblingo customization that has since been overwritten with the release file on upgrade? The file that controls this behaviour is CSHome\module\report_16_2_0\html\autoreport-run.html.

Thanks Appu. I found the customization done in 9.7. and the same works in CS16 without any changes.

Is there a way to do it using LiveReport format instead of Auto LiveReport? I am attaching my LR for reference.
