Automated Builds / Continuous Integration?

Hi OT CSIDE Team.

With some of the recent changes to Content Server and movement toward supporting containerization (Docker) being mooted, can someone confirm whether there are planned improvements to CS/CSIDE to support automated builds from source.

Oh I long for the ability to simply pull code from a source management system (e.g. GIT) using something like Jenkins, set a target CS version, build my module and deposti the artefact somewhere that a tester can pick it up and install to a target CS system.

Oh Oh....even better.....what about REST API's to allow deploying/upgrading a module without manual administrative intervention so we could trigger the upgrade/install from the CI system itself? Or possibly the ability to define a Dockerfile for a CS instance that includes the components we want to deploy for testing?

Are these concepts under any form of consideration and if so, what timeframes are we likely to be working to?

Thanks for the update.

As customers are moving to OT cloud and with increasing need for SolEx partners to have versions of their solutions ready/compatible with quarterly releases, our need for a CI based process is increasing.

I appreciate that putting a firm date on this is unlikely, but is there any indication of whether this is on the short-medium-long term horizon?

Hi Juliano & Patrick - I'm hoping this post makes its way onto your radar.....

Are we closer to having CI/CD tools and pipeline for automating module builds?

This is becoming increasingly necessary where Sol Ex solutions are part of OT Cloud deployments - so we can release updates more frequently and on shorter cycles.

I note the last CS release included OUnit, which I'm hoping is indicative of some movement in this space.

Is there any update on this topic - it would be greatly appreciated.
