Update Category definition with REST API?

Looking at the 10.5 and 16.2 REST APIs, I can see methods for adding and removing Categories from Nodes, but nothing for creating or modifying Category and Attribute definitions, or pushing Category updates to affected nodes. Are those actions not supported through the current REST APIs?

Hi Patrick,

In REST, as far as I know, you can only perform cat/att operations in the context of a given node.

No updates on the category objects, themselves, no new categories, etc.

I think you may have to PUT/POST to update/add categories serially.

If it doesn't exist, it's likely a good idea to open a Feature Request, with support.

If you needed to do anything more complex, CWS does support chunked category upgrades, modifying the underying category objects themselves, adding new ones, etc.

Hi Nizar, and thanks for the quick reply. I already have a CWS app that does the category updates, but a colleague is trying to do something similar with REST. Your answer is what I suspected to be the case.
