Remove large amount of versions in content server

Hi Experts,

Can someone advise how I can remove a large of redundant versions in the content server effectively and safely? I can query these versions (about 120,000) from DVersData table but not sure how to remove them.

Depending on what your preference for a tool is most of the approaches will need you to.

Get The Node by its DataID (DAPINode)
List Versions(DAPIVersion) -DAPIRendition if you need that as well.
Purge what you do not like.
Optional -Put a Positive Number on the Remaining so that it will keep that many version from Now on.

When you try to Delete a Version, OT will prevent if it is Reserved, Has a Lock, Has a Legal Hold, Has an RM(RSI) thing, Has a Reference as in a Generation.

I have done this in Oscript, SOAP(CWS), LAPI and WR depending on how complex the situation was. API's exist for what you are most likely comfortable in.
