Example of using SMARTUI styles on FormView

Hello,

I am trying to create a regular form view (workflow form step) using SMARTUI styles and wondering if anyone out there in the community had researched it.

Appreciate if you can share any examples.

Also wondering if Apalca forms works in regular form view or its only meant to SmartUI.

You can enable a workflow step to use Smart UI. I'm not a workflow expert, but did you try implementing your form using such step?

Using Smart UI stylesheets alone is not something, that you should want to do. As whole, they are not the interface, which we document and keep stable. The interface for Smart UI forms is the JavaScript component FormView, which expects a model with data, schema and optoins, as you know from JSON Schema + Alpaca extensions.

Smart UI integrates Alpaca, but it does not use the Alpaca implementation of field controls. If you want to get a "Smart UI look & feel", you will need to create a FormView from Smart UI and not to just apply the Alpaca plugin. This is what Smart UI workflow steps do. It is a coding work for a developer, not a configuration work for a workflow administrator.

Why can’t you use the user step?

You can create a form view with the WF attributes that you have defined.

Can you confirm, if a the FolderBrowse widget is embedded (e.g. used as a CSUI widget on another page/portal ala xECM and SAP), it appears that workflows where they are set to initiate in the Smart UI don't appear to do anything. User sees link in the widget browsing the folder structure, workflow appears listed and has an Initiate inline action on it, but nothing happens.

I believe that this is because the workflow when set to use Smart UI for initiation requires uses a perspective router, which seemingly may not work when the widget is embedded standalone?

For reference, workflows set to initiate in the Classic UI do work - user sees same as above in embedded widget, but when launched a new browser tab is opened. Makes sense.

Is my interpretation correct and/or is this design intendend?
