Where can I find information about CSIDE and how to use it?

Please provide some useful links explaining about CSIDE and how it can be employed in custom application development.

It may not be something that comes naturally to most, unless they are experienced with Builder, so it may be worth getting an instructor-led course, or PDF, on its usage, from learning services.

However, the quick start guide gets you in there, using it.

As for what you can develop for it? Essentially everything you see in the product, sans the SmartUI, which has its own respective SDK (and an OScript portion, in parts).

Some things are harder to do in OScript, than, say, using our APIs, or WebReports, so it depends on need.

From an Old Builder/CSIDE convert.Things you can do with it almost ditto from the Builder Docu.

Create Shrink Wrapped Modules.
Add Your own subtypes sometimes creating Objects that your organization wants.
Change Webnode-Action objects
Create simple Request Handlers for bulk work.
Easily Add Call back, Post or Pre OT programmers have custom programmed without touching OT code.
Extend workflows very easily
Excellent Debugging capabilities you can stop a request at the WebDsp (Dispatch)object and trace the execution.
Write patches if you seem to know the fault where it lies and you can't wait for an OT patch.
Above all, you start admiring Oscript and the capabilities(endless)

Somethings that a person who has done programming in both tools is like this.

In the old version collaborative development was very difficult. For e.g, if I was working on WFCUSTOM_1_0_1 and my organization has 4 or 5 developers who were also Oscript proficient it took all of us lot of talking/swearing etc to get all our changes in. I am not talking about core OT DEV where they had lots of build tools. Big development houses like GCI had their own way of maintaining code for any version. The builder OLL's when exported as a .dmp file was ASCII and you could theoretically make changes in ASCII and import it and do some mischief.
In CSIDE the code side is maintained as.OS files.The module explorer where the code changes are done manifest more or like Builder. In one CSIDE project, we did my team was about 6 developers we had source code control with Microsoft TFS so it kind of made sense while we were doing that.
In Builder, one could easily open an OLL and look at it rather than going the whole effort of installing it.
The builder had easy enough to look, Oscript inspectors when you were inspecting a huge data structure.
One could drag and drop objects in builder opening up two panes made easier when doing things.
Eclipse CSIDE has all new modern things like intellisense like that, also the online Oscript documentation is much better than the bundled builder documentation.
