Charts in SmartUI

Hello,

We have a requirement to display some charts (Line Charts) in SmartUI but in current version of SmartUI (16.2.6) we don't see the charts that we needed.
It would be helpful if you can answer my below questions.
1. Is it possible to show charts otherthan Bar, Donut, Pie?
2. Are there any enhancements planned already for charts (i.e, Extending Visual Count widget,..) in upcoming release ( > 16.2.7)?
3. Can I use existing JS libraries D3 or Charts.js from CRT module in my own widgets for different charts?

Hi Suresh,

There isn't a line chart available at the moment and there isn't anything currently under development. Line charts have different data requirements to the current charts that are built in to the Visual Count widget. The idea was that we'd do a separate widget for continuous data that would support basic types like line and area charts. There isn't currently a feature request logged for this so if you need it for a project please raise a request to show product management there is demand for this.

In the mean time you'd have to do your own custom widget. d3 is included in the SDK in core csui at csui/lib/d3. As you say, if there are other libraries available like chart js then that might be an option.
