Live report to pull the files from the folder and its sub folder with respect to the specific attrib

User wants a report to display all the files in particular folder and its sub folder with respect to the specific attribute that we create in Categories.

Like we have under Categories->01 General->Doc Control Authority-> it contains several values which will be selected for files. Need a report if a user select particular attribute all files mapped to that attroibute should be displayed

Is this just for the immediate Sub-Folder or all Sub-Folders?

Do you want a specific value from this particular Category/Attribute or just if the Cat/Att exists with a Value(not blank)?

This could be achieved through a simple search form or faceted browsing.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for reply! Its for the all the sub folder inside. Like it contains 100 sub folders and user want to display the files inside it when we give particular attribute as an input.

Yes User want ot specify the attribute value and user needs the document associated with that attribute displayed.

Hi,

The actual requirment is that user wants to display all the documents in specific folder which contains many sub folders. After that user needs to to give input of the particular attribute.

For exampe we have an attribute called Doc Control Authority: (which has like 20 values) Each document inside the parent folder and sub folder will be tagged with any one of the values in DOC Control authority.

So once the user mentions the value as input the report should generate in a way that it should show all the documents associated with that value in Doc Control authority

The folder structure can have millions of objects within sub folders and nested folders. I don’t think it is a good idea to extract all of those details in one go. I would suggest to figure out a limit of extracting result set. Do you have a requirement to only show the document information if the executing user has permission to see that document?

My preference would be to use search framework than the live report.

I have managed to resolve the issue witht he below code.
