Hi,

while implemeting SSL in content server i have done all the IIS configuration changes as per OT recommendation.i am using C# code while consuming CWS for this C# code i am getting following error in log while running c# code
*** Authentication Failed - Exception
The HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'.

someone has any idea on this how to resolve this

Are you trying to use SSL client authentication? It sounds like you may have enabled SSL client authentication when you enabled SSL but are not provided any client/user certificate when connecting.

Assuming that you don’t want to use SSL/client authentication – you may want to turn this off? (but leave SSL enabled)

In this case, you will need to ensure that it is provided as part of the HTTP calls you are making for your coding platform.

Sorry, I am not familiar with what this may look like for C#.

I have played with HTTPS and CWS in c# it was really difficult as there was no OT documentation Finally it worked

It is in a post in my blog livelink.in it was based on old directory services and I was hitting a livelink server that had been IWA and I made the site https using a self signed certificate. In this day of OTDS you probably can get the token in OTDS and then work with livelink

If you want to follow my example I suggest you isolate a server that has livelink and its website https / IWA try first simple code using C# On how to run a aspx output with C# . That will give you success then enable https in your web. Config bindings all the time running wantlapilogs=true debug =2 if you see your code showing in livelink logs you can rest assured that you have talked in https

Good luck and if you have success share your findings for the next guy in here

Hi Krishna,

Thank you for your responce over my post,

i have been implementes SSL over content server succesfully and nor CS is accesible through https perfectly.

what is my issue is we have utility developed in C# which is inteacting with two applications one is CS and another is Oracle peoplesoft and for CS we are consumin CS CWS webservices in this programme,

for pragramme they have app.config which is executing everytime when we run .exe

in app.confie CWS reference url is there in client source where we have changes http to https also two binding is written in app.config

when we execute this .exe its giving an error-

1-Authentication Failed - Exception The HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'.

2.The provided URI scheme 'https' is invalid; expected 'http'.
Parameter name: via

it means i assume that still request is going on http and we have blocked http in network as per client request to allow only https

i am assuming either i need to change somewhere else in code regarding htttps changes or need to write https function in code but not sure.

Did you ask support at opentext dot com for a solution? sometimes it's better if you are in a bind to get it

from them than in the forum?AF as the error is concerned I would suggest using google to research the

error and apply it logically to your WCF. At least that's what I did in my attempts.

I think I am also with Brian because I think what you are doing is writing a C# client from machine who is not providing a SSL certificate to

the handshake with the web server.

If you actually source one of your wsdls in a browser and then if the scheme turns to https then you should be able to see the certificate path in

your browser. >From memory, I think I somehow set it on the master certificate store on the client computer where my C# code was running

Have you updated all server references in VS after having made changes with IIS (e.g., application pool, an app or a Virtual Directory, etc), or with CWS on server?
