setting permission by bitmask

We are migrating a LAPI Tool to support CWS.

With LAPI it was pissbole to set the permissions by bitmask

In the CWS documenation I see only the boolean values like "setSeeContentsPermission"

is it also possible in CWS to set permissions by bitmask?

Hi Michael,

No. Content Web Services, by design, is strongly typed.

As such, even the permission options were locked down to an enumerated list.

For the long term, it’s likely best to target usage of the REST API instead of CWS.

Is there anything preventing you from moving to it instead, or is it just not a good fit?

thank you for the clarification.

Before starting the tool migration we had a Workshop with Olaf Puschmann from OT GS and the webservice was better platform for this tool.
