Set security clearance to subitems from CWS Rest API

Good Morning,

First of all, excuse my English.

I am using the Rest API to set the Security Clearance of a node and all its children.

I use this url /api/v1/nodes/213561/securityclearances

with these parameters:

- "clearance_level":1

- "apply_to_subitems":"upgrade_downgrade"

It only updates the node, but not its children. What am I doing wrong?

I have performed the same operation from the SmartView and the result is the same. Only update the node, not your children.

Are the children managed objects of security clearance? Do they have ability to have security clearance on them at all? Does the container have the ‘inherit from’ check box checked so that it can have the children inherit from it? If you have admin access you can check here <CS instance>?func=RecmanSecurity.SupportedTypes

Yes, I have administrator access. In my test I am using folders, subfolders, documents and shortcuts. The folders have the "Inherit From" option selected.

What version of Content Server do you have?

Does the inheritance work ok if you use the classic UI?

OpenText Content Server versión 16.2.

With the classic UI if it works. With the smart view no.

Hi Manu,

You're doing everything right (from my point of view). This feature is REST API was implemented in November 2016, and was released with the Securty Clearance v 16.2. If you see the dialog "Apply to subitems" in SmartUI, this feature is available. The implementation was not changed since then, and I've just checked with the latest version that it works; for now I could see one possible cause - are you running CS as a service, or via IDE? The "apply to subitems" functionality is implemented using distributed agent, and this doesn't work in IDE. What is your case?

I see the dialog "Apply to subitems" in SmartUI, this feature is available.

In the Content Server Administration, Distributed Agent Dashboard I see that I do not have any Distributed Agent ID. Can it have anything to do with it?
