How to extend the workitem so an additional form can be shown in the workflow

Hi all,

I'm trying to build a module that generates a form in the workflow. This is done by inheriting the WorkItemExtensionController, as stated in the SDK documentation. But when adding the WorkItemExtensionController in my include and then building the module with the grunt command, the following error is returned:

That the module is private because it does not occur in any foreign bundle index.

Does anyone have any idea in how to resolve this?

Hi, the error message in your screenshot clearly explaining that it's requirejsDependencyCheck method failure and it willbe there in gruntfile.js you need to include workflow component in your grunt file.
in your src/gruntfile.js file, add below line after csuiComponent declaration
"workflowComponent = require('../lib/src/workflow/component')" and in the same file in the function "requirejsDependencyCheck", change dependencies to include worklfowComponent as well with the below line
dependencies: csuiComponent.getAllModules() + workflowComponent.getAllModules() ,
This should work for you.

Hi Jasper,

Can you do couple of changes as well.
in the config-build.js file add the path for workflow src directory with this line workflow:'../lib/src/workflow' , add it after the csui path.
and in your WorkItemExtensionController.js file change the workitem.controller.extension path from "csui/lib/workflow/utils/workitem.extension.controller" to "workflow/utils/workitem.extension.controller"

Hi, I just added the code you said but the grunt command still gives me the same error. When adding a typo in the csuiComponent declaration grunt throws an error. So this let's me know the component is loaded.

A part from defining the WorkitemExtensionController ('csui/lib/workflow/utils/workitem.extension.controller') in my own controller, what else needs there to be done?

In this thread I could not find out what indeed worked at the end. I figured out and might be helpful for others:
1. In the workitem.controller extension, the workflow dependancy can be left as 'workflow/utils/workitem.extension.controller'
2. In config-build.js, Disable crawling of workflow module dependencies by adding workflow: 'empty:', near csui: 'empty:'
3. In Gruntfile.js, add 2 more changes :

In "requirejsDependencyCheck" task modify the dependancy to dependencies:"csuiComponent.getAllModules() + workflowComponent.getAllModules(),"

Also add  workflowComponent = require('../lib/src/workflow/component') at the start of the file:
// RequireJS modules of the components, which we depend on
  csuiComponent = require('../lib/src/csui/component'),
workflowComponent = require('../lib/src/workflow/component'),
