Getting a document's ID from its location

Do anyone know of any (easy) way of getting an Content Server object's (node) id from its location via REST?
For example, I'd supply "Enterprise:Directory:Subdirectory:filename.csv" and the web service (or whatever API) would return 4000100 (or whatever it might be).

It should be possible to achieve such a thing using a combination of:

• A webreport that turns the path into a JSON string containing the dataid ( NODEINFO:PATHTOID )
• Calling this webreport using the corresponding REST endpoint [api/v1/nodes/{id}/output] (see https://developer.opentext.com/webaccess/#url=/awd/resources/apis/cs-rest-api-for-cs-16-s#!/webreports/postWebReportOutput_post_3&tab=501 )
