Create node and categories in one REST call

Anyone know what the syntax is to create a new node AND a couple of categories/attributtes via the POST api/v2/nodes REST call? The implementation notes say to see the implementation notes on how, but I must be looking on the wrong implementation notes, as I'm not seeing it.

In addition to the file form value, the call needs a 'body' form value in the following format:

can you give me a hint how to use the 'body' form value? I am a VB6 developer and upload a file successfully, but now I have to fill some categories. I don't know the difference between 'file form values ' and 'body form values'.

I use Postman where you can understand the different parts of a HTML form submission, what OT means is inside form data you need to construct name/value pairs as the CS application is not fully a JSON app.

Thank you Appu Nair for your advice. I already found out, that the Category has the ID 15389062 (with the .../otcs/llisapi.dll?func=attributes.dump):

But I don't know, if the attribute has the ID 2 or if it has the ID 15389062_1_1_7_1 , like the input box hat the htmlcode: <input class="valueEditable" type="text" name="_1_1_2_1" title="Documenttype" id="_1_1_7_1" value="" size="50" maxlength="254" onchange="markDirty();">

Is the Assocs error a common web service error or an openText specific error?

if you want to send an attribute for the Attribute called Number one would say 15389062_3

you will also need to in your payload(please download postman and send the payload using that)

thx for your response. But what should help me postman, if I don't know how to create/send the json? I will get the same error, like I do, if it send it with my VB6 application... This doesn't help me.

In the meantime I found some posts, that OpenText couldn't use JSON: "Only the URL-encoded form and the multipart MIME formats are recognized. JSON is "just a garbage" for the current implementation :-)“

I see that you are using "POST /otcs/cs.exe/api/v1/nodes HTTP/1.1" . I am using "/otcs/llisapi.dll/api/v2/nodes". What is the difference between cs.exe and llisapi.dll?

I found more an more hints, that open text can't work with JSON objects. So I tried first to upload the file with a post request and "multipart/form-data" and after that I update several attributes with a PUT request. This works. So all the ID I have used are correct. I don't know why in every official documentation stands "use JSON blabla" but open text doesn't compatible with it. in V2 Version of Code your payload will look like this

You can see I switched my call to v2 version and llisapi.dll

documentation looks erroneous with the escape sequences a jsonlint did not validate that as JSON

in V2 you can fine tune the Request/Reponse as such in v1 I just get the DataID of the new document ,in V2 I get a lot more as in my screencap .llisapi.dll, cs.exe, cs all of these are cgi scripts for CS.llisapi.dll is a faster implementation of the cs.exe but works only in IIS deployments. As such for the RESTApi they are not relevant
