Set Mandatory Categories when uploading new document with API REST

Hello experts

I (a newbee) need to set a mandatory category when I upload a new document in a folder.
I use Postman to test it but get a error 500 :

I got the roles syntaxt from other posts, but not sure a copy/past is enough !

Yes the copy/paste is enough..if you bring up smartui and use developer tools then you can see rest API being used in many cases or fiddler.
Just use the category in the correct format of roles.

You can find the attributes by running the RH ?func=attributes.dump or select * from CatRegionMap

I have change the roles value to {"categories":{"435031":{"435031_23":"test1"}}}
But I must miss something.. I still get this Error 500 message.
And in the log file :
Start Stack Crawl: Thread: 9026fae810 Depth: 9 Status: Value cannot be coerced to Local type R0: '{"categories":{"435031":{"435031_23":"test1"}}}' Frame: ExecuteAction (0) ObjRef: #a005e06 (csnode::ObjectsWithPrototypes::Actions::NodeActions::Create::CreateDocument [temp] [temp]).'ExecuteAction'

Take a look at the swagger docs, it looks like you aren't using the body parameter, which is required when dealing with categories.

Ex.
Create a Folder with Category1 and Category2. Category1's Set Textfield on the second row has 'aaa' in the Set Textfield's third value; Category2's Textfield is 'bbb':

{"type":0, "parent_id":2000, "name":"New Folder", "roles":{"categories":{"9830":{"9830_3_2_4":["","","aaa"]}, "6228":{"6228_2":"bbb"}}}}

When using postman create a key named 'body' and set the value to the json string above.

Thanks a lot Matthew !
It works now after using V1 instead of V2 API (I add to use the V2 api with the previous POSTMAN syntax)

I responded with the v1 way, I meant to show the V2 which is slightly different. Sorry about that, you should try to use it when available.
ex. {"type":0, "parent_id":272919, "name":"New Folder", "roles":{"categories":{"2530_2":"bbb"}}}
