Download Content using CS REST API Error [Could not get the version of ****]

Dear Gurus,

I'm new to opentext, i'm using postman to try downloading file from otcs rest api using http://****/api/v2/nodes/796629/content, but the message i keep getting is:

"error": "Could not get the version of 'Faktur Pajak'.".

I try googling and searching the forum but found no error about this. When i use other rest api, it works just fine, i even able to add another folder to the workspace.

Please help me.

Look at a file sitting in this KB's Livelink Content Server as an example It is a private folder and I haven't allowed anybody to see it.

If you try to do anything with REST API usually the error will say that something like "cannot show you things because of permissions etc".Some companies put "friendly errors" so in your rest api return you may not be getting a correct error.

In your case what may be the problem and I am guessing this is

• Your Version file is missing using the Classic URL you can observe a Versions tab when you call the REST API it is trying to find you a version file. Chances are you are getting an error.
• So check if you have sufficient rights, next check if the version is not found, and see if you can indeed see the file but REST API is giving you a different answer.
• Since you said you can create a folder try adding a file in that folder observe the classic GUI and see if you can retrieve the file.
• If indeed the version file is lost by some means higher debugging with logs may be necessary. It is not common for CS to lose version files although it does happen.
