Connect Content Server to PowerApps

Is it possible for the current REST APIs of Content Server to able to connect to Content Server?

There is already an connector available in PowerApps called OneFox. However, we are looking into option to see if the current APIs in Content Server can do the job without subscribing to the one in the market.

Hi Mark,

There are a number of ways to connect Content Server to Power Automate / Azure Logic App flows. The first thing you will need to manage is where your Content Server is hosted. Because the Power Automate / Azure platform is cloud-based you will need to potentially manage how comms work especially if your instance is on-premise. To work with this you will likely need to use the On-premise data gateway that Azure provides

Creating a Custom Connector

The first would be to use an Azure Logic App Custom Connector, with this you can use create your own API definition that will enable you to connect to content server. As you define each API call a new step will become available in your Power Automate / Azure Logic App flow. What is even better is that your custom connector can be made aware of your data gateway which means you can use an on-premise URL

If you dont feel like a custom connector

There are some companies out there that have already done the work, an example of this is One Fox which have created a Content Server / Extended ECM / Documentum / eDocs / Core Share Power Automate connectors Products - One Fox EN

@Henshaw_David : I'm looking into connected Content Server to an app the our company created. Primarily we would like to pull out data from CS to that app. The app that our company made is made out of Azure PowerApps.

@mbarben : Thanks for the information on this. Unfortunately we are not using an OT on-premise solution, but the cloud based on which is hosted by OT. Is this not possible to use Azure data gateway on a cloud hosted Content Server?

Also, for the custom connector this should be created within Azure PowerApps and not thru CS?

Hi Mark,

If you have your CS hosted on OT cloud you would need to adjust your firewall to allow Power Automate to communicate with the OT service.

With regards to setting up the custom connector you either need to:

Create Azure resource (the Azure Custom Connector)
Or within the Power Automate portal
