Has anyone done this kind of setting.

We are looking to add a custom message for date format understanding as follows,

We have updated the file OT_HOME\support\csui\bundles\csui-app.js file for this but the alignment seems to not working.

Is there a quick and better way possible ?

BTW if you change the files another time OT puts new files your change will be gone so use a good patching method when possible.

If that was a static message wouldn't a Welcome Header added to Perspective Manager do the same thing?

The approach of modifying the csui-app.js file is ill advised - this is core to the Smart View and subject to being updated/overridden during any update/patching.

Probably better to look at the csui-style-override-kit that is available with the CS Smart View SDK available on Knowledge Center.

You'd likely override the logo (center) and include you're warning on date formats there via CSS etc.

Dont touch any bundles delivered by the core modules, unless you are really a fan of russian roulette.

There are other things to do when you want to display a custom error message. (The slides are from my smartUI base training)

Option 1: the nav header is not such a shiny idea, because you must deal with external views drawing the appropriate parts, like your message.

Option 2: Use a modal alert box. But this box is, as the name implies, modal!

Option 3: Use a dialog box with a custom view inside (this is an example)

Option 4: Use a global message box

Option 5: Build a custom control for your message and fire the control at the right moment. This can look like you want, the sky is the limit. Just to give you an idea

If you are more conventinal, you can use Option 1-4.

Not so good ideas are

a. modifing the bundles, because at each reload you get the old one again unless you modify the bundle in the csui core module of the server. And this can be overwritten without warning by patches, so you'll have to check against every single patch (the same procedure as always on heavy customized systems)

b. playing with css for messaging purposes, because the final custom css is loaded at page loading time (unless you reload the page). You need to tangle with scopes to modify a css with your error message and this can be quite entertaining.
