Facing an error while integrating OTCS Share Point Web Parts in Share Point Online

Hi Team,

We have configured successfully Office 365 connection settings in Content Server Admin page. Post configuration we download the Web Parts Package for Share Point online and shared the same with Share Point online team.

When Share Point online team is configuring the Web Parts they are facing an error.

Please find below error :

CS team has not done any changes and connection with Office 365 connection settings still shows successful.

Please do let us know if there is any changes to be done from CS configurations or SP configurations.

Hi Pratik,

Without a deep dive into the configuration - there would be a couple of questions:

the failed URL in that error message - are you able to load that URL into a browser?
Is Content Server on-prem or hosted in a place where SharePoint online can hit that (I don't think that this would be the source of the error - but it may inform depending on the context of the error)

the failed URL in that error message - are you able to load that URL into a browser? --> We are unable to load the URL in browser as the URL is from one of the old projects which has been decommissioned, we are not sure from where is this URL being referred in SharePoint when team is trying to use the Web Parts.
We observed that there is already an instance of CS configured in Share Point, so when we are configuring our web parts it is giving same application id due to which we are facing an error as Share Point is restricting us from configuring another instance web part of CS

I would imagine if it was previously connected to a Content Server then there should be a solution package already deployed to the App Catalog (keep in mind that you will likely need Tenant Admin access to access that catalog).

I would imagine that there would be some instance-specific settings in the solution package file that is generated - doing this would mean you could deploy two 'Content Server Apps' (and their web parts) side by side.

HI Matthew,

Thanks for your suggestion we identified the previous issue was due a web part that was already present in Share Point online application.

We now move on to a different instance of Share Point which is fresh and no web part is configured previously.

But still we are facing an error when Share Point team is using the latest web part in their site page

Error :

Content Server settings is invalid. Please check the web part configuration.

on Debugging we found that web part is referring to wpconfig.js file which is not present in Content Server location. As per OT support in the latest 20.3 version wpconfig.js file is not created in CS server and details are present in Global configuration in Share Point online only.

Please do suggest how can we resolve the issue.

Hi Pratik,

At this point, you need to be dealing with OT support. However, if OT support is saying the latest web part does deployed to Content Server yet it is still pointing to a file at that location then you are either looking at:

a version mismatch between the web part and the Content Server
or OT needs to update their package CS side to re-add this file.
