out_Module folder missing during the project build

Dears,

i followed the steps to add widget but after building the project i found the out_module missing ,

only three folders added

out-debug

out-languagepack_en

out-release

but the out_module is Missing which

have the oscript files and structure that

will need to build our final module

what is the problem here ?

which version are you using as the module has been removed from newer versions of the SDK, although you can update the Grunt file to restore it if you need to.

as far as I am aware you would need to build it yourself now, a relatively simple process, see slide 6 of the PPT at https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll?func=ll&objId=78568751&objAction=browse&viewType=1.

Hello @Abdulfattah Hussein , we have the same problem with generating a module in 21.4. The PPT mentioned by @Greg Griffiths is for 21.3. so we were not able to follow the instructions. Right now we will use 21.3. for generating modules but if there is a new workflow we need more help from OpenText.

for 21.3

you have to install two node JS 14,node JS 16) and switch between them by nvm .

follow readme files for both SDK and Generator you will find it 's working.

I think that the out-module directory was removed, because it had never worked well.

Originally, the out-module directory was supposed to simplify the deployment. It was supposed to be just opened in Oclipse and deployed.

Later I learnt, that such importing of a completely generated project to Oclipse had not worked. We changed the documentation, so that it described how to create an empty project in Oclipse and copy the out-release content there.

The only helpful file in out-module was CSUIExtension.os:

package YOURCSMODULENAME
public object CSUIExtension inherits CSUI::Extension
 override Boolean fEnabled = TRUE
 override String fModulePrefix = 'yourextensionprefix'
end

How to create a new module for a Smart UI extension:

Create a new module using the Eclipse wizard. Including the installation to the local CS and the necessary restarts.
Orphan CSUI::Extension using the Eclipse wizard. Paste the overridden members of the object in CSUIExtension.os (created by the generator) to the new orphan file.
Copy out-release/* recursively to support/ in the Oclipse project.
