Content Server 16.2 REST API to add an existing Categories to a document

Hi Team,

We are working with Content Server 16.2 REST API's and trying to add a document and fill attributes of existing category (attached to it) using external forms.

If anyone can share a REST API sample code to add attributes to an existing category to the new document trying to upload.

CS is not a true JSON kind of REST API implementation so for almost all calls you will send in the HTTP BODY some more form data parameters

if you are not a CS Programmer or user a few things or basics

https://localhost/alpha/cs.exe/api/v1/nodes/{id}/categories

the {id} is the NODEID,OBJID,DATAID that you see when you are in the CS GUI in the URL

in the body payload one does this

{"category_id":9830,"9830_2":"new value"}

That means apply category dataID 9830 and its _2 KEY with "NEW VALUE"

I use POST Man so one can study what calls work ,in almost all cases you need a header variable called OTDSTICKET/OTCSTICKET I am showing you a screencap of my postman and the various places you change are important

if POST is giving you trouble after initially putting use PUT and look at the developer API POST to initially put and PUT to change it any number of times :) I am showing v2 of api v1 may be slightly different
