Recently we have found a problem when migrating ArchiveLink document from SAP to ContentServer. We can create and update without any problem a specific type of AL document (like this on

e attached in image):

But when we try to send another Document Type, we got this error:

An item with the name 'Expedient de personal XXXXXXXXXXX' already exists. (IMIVPWOTCSFE2.corppro.imi.bcn:D:\OpenText\otcs\logs\, thread 1)

Has anyone faced a similar issue?

Content Server a.k.a Livelink treats Object Name in a container (Folder ,XECM BWS etc. are that)as a unique entry. In systems like DCTM you can have a container contain HelloWorld.docx any number of times, with a uniqueID, in CS HelloWorld.docx can be added only once in the same container(The only exception there is if you have a CaSe Sensitive database then you can do HELLOWorld.docx and other permutations) most people do not put them on a CS DB. The reason why OT CS adopted this is when you search on a Document for HelloWorld how would the user know what HelloWorld they are looking for and if they wanted to download to a filesystem windows/unix does not allow this as well.

Many customers will add the First HelloWorld.docx as the Object Handle with Version 1 and the subsequent ones as Versions to that however SAP operations usually do not do versioning operations .if you go to the folder where the drop is happening and you do not see "Expedient de personal XXXXXXXXXXX" there then you need to ask OT about it and look if Recycle Bin is storing an older "Expedient de personal XXXXXXXXXXX" and somehow XECM code is confused on that aspect. I also do not know if the ABAP program checks if an object exists and adds as as version.

I also do not know if by saying this Expedient de personal XXXXXXXXXXX you were blanking out the actual name and putting XXXXX in there like you don't want the forum readers to see the name .It could also mean that some naming scheme like (A D N) was expecting some metadata like last time that SAP wasn't sending and hence the replacement isn't working as you want:) Usually like I said in a folder only one item can be named Etoril, if you try to add another Etoril the system would throw that error.

Hi, Appu. Our client said to us that we need to be able to send several document within an expedient. For example, within this one (Where XXXX is the name showed in image):

But when we try to send more from SAP, we get this message:

"An item with the name 'Concurs-oposició. Instàncies i CV 28 places de TS Gestió' already exists. "

Is there a way to customize (Content Server or SAP) the option to add several documents within the expedient? Look like with the rest of documents, SAP is trying to create again an expediente with the same name (that is only needed for first document when, in case expedient does not exist, both expedient and document are created in content server after WS calling in SAP).

For adding Documents in that Container

Concurs-oposició. Instàncies i CV 28 places de TS Gestió in CS Parlance this is a BWS with a unique dataid. If your Customer wants to store 1 million items under this it is possible but the place it gets dropped like the parent of Concurs-oposició. The best way for you to understand this is go to your Personal Workspace in Content Server and create a Folder. Create a Document called Concurs-oposició. Instàncies i CV 28 places de TS Gestió in there Now add another one called the same thing you most likely will get the error.

So understand from the client whether you need 1 million objects called Concurs-oposició. Instàncies i CV 28 places de TS Gestió or is there intention to store UNDER THAT other documents.

If they want to store under that then other REST and SOAP calls exist.

Look like with this method is not possible to insert several documents withing 1 expediente. I will try changing method.
