After going through all of the resources available on the event page, I am having a dilemma about whether or not to include Google Cloud assets in the project.
Because in order to use any services of Google Cloud, we have to consume API credits otherwise we will be charged for any API call that we make. Generally, the first thousand API calls are free but talking about the Healthcare API particularly, the storage functionality for the same charges for every operation.
During the development and testing phases of the project, one can easily surpass the free limits (because some might have already used the APIs previously and thus the allowed free calls are almost exhausted already). So, what's the point of spending real money for making a hackathon project?
I know you have provided the codes for the Quest Labs but that is completely different from what is actually needed for making a project on GCP or even running in there.
Free API credits are provided for new users, but not everyone is using GCP for the first time. So, how can one get the API credits to run anything? I know the simplest answer could be that make a new account, but I want to tell you that due to the strict credit card and debit card compliance, it is almost impossible to get an account provisioned as a new customer which actually takes that method out of the way.
If a participant can't use Google Cloud products/assets for free, then how the participants are assumed to integrate Google Cloud into their projects or even judged on that basis?
As Google is your partner for this event, so you can't actually say that don't use Google Cloud in the projects but if the above-stated issue persists, then how can one integrate its services into the project?
Apart from the above question, please answer the following queries also:
- I actually can't see a reason of using any other service than OpenText itself. The reasons behind this are: OpenText is itself a self-capable platform that is providing extensive AI/ML methods or services to call using the Information Management Services and being an OpnexText hackathon, why should we look up to any other service provider? Because the basic requirement for the submission is to incorporate a minimum of 2 OpenText APIs.
- Even though I can't read it anywhere, I am asking specifically, is using Google Cloud a necessity?
- Are any of the judges from the Google Cloud team, because if it so then GCP will be prioritized over others for sure.
- Earlier it was mentioned in a post that:
2/3 judges are Healthcare professionals (one in tech, one a clinical).
I can't grab the meaning of 2/3. Does that mean that there will be a total of 3 judges out of which 2 will be from the healthcare professionals or was it two third of the total judges, because the same words were mentioned in the post's reply?
Please provide point-wise answers to all of the five queries that I have asked above. A collaborative answer will be of no use, so be specific about each answer so that it helps me out. @Shahid M @Chris_Wynder
