Why this matters?
Patient confidentiality is the utmost important factor when designing healthcare solutions. Protected Health Information (PHI) is a specific type of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that is collected by a healthcare provider or other covered entity for the provision of healthcare services. The ask:
We asked developers to come up with creative solutions to protect and manage PHI and PII. Submissions for this challenge brought out innovative ideas that incorporated blockchain, AI and anonymization techniques to protect patient data.
