Object restriction

Hi All,

The requirement is to limit the objects availability in a particular path.

Folder should not be available in this location [Enterprise»Legal»Legal & Compliance]

Only Document should be available under this location and no other objects should be listed in +add item. Location: Legal»Legal & Compliance»Commercial/Marketing»Commercial Liquids»1234 - CAPITAN ENERGY INC»Documents

If we configure in "Object Privileges" from admin console it will be applied all over application but can we limit only to a paticular path/location.

Kindly advise.

nothing in the core product to do this at the permission level - although you could use ActiveView etc to hide the menu items.

Some partners, such as Cassia offer a solution - https://www.cassiacm.com/prism-for-opentext-content-server/ which may suit your requirements.

Depending on how its created and the load / performance of your system its not usually going to add a lot of performance impact.

Remember that you are only removing the item from the menu, if a user can create a direct URL or bypass the AV then the item is still create able. For complete security you would need an OScript change such as the one included in the Cassia module - although other developers may have similar tools or you may build you own.

Hi, This request is on Smart UI. I tried active view option yesterday and it works like expected in classic view, but I realized active view is not effective in smart UI.

ActiveViews work in Classic only, for SmartUI you will need to use the SmartUI SDK to override the Smart UI stuff unless you do something at a lower level e.g. OScript as that will filter through to both UIs.

The Cassia Prism solution should cover both use cases as well I suspect.
