How to search for a specific document in a web report

Hi there

We have a WR constant which is a known folder within CS, and we have a WR parameter which is the name of a file we want to open from that folder (if it exists). I don't seem to be able to find the simple search or "Get node by name" tag that will find that file .. I feel like I must be missing something obvious. I admit, I don't get involved in Web Reports very often

I know I could conduct a simple REST API search, I suppose I could look it up directly in DTreeCore (but I don't like that option at all), and I also thought about utilizing a "Saved Search Query" and using that in a sub-webreport Source, but again that seems more complex than necessary (and I'm not sure how to provide criteria to the query).

I feel like this should be an easy thing to do, hence I'm sure my WR inexperience is the real problem :-) Any help is appreciated

The proper way would be to use a data source (SQL or a search-like complex query)

So, an example approach

MY LR :Select Name,DataId from Dtree wehere Parentid=%1and name like '%1'

MY WR would point to this LR, and in the parameter, I would go and use the parameter extractor the blue thing on the right so my WR will look like this when running

When it executes, it spits out the result of your node being found. Note that in this, we used SQL to find it. If I point this to a search query, the search system will provide the result. Now you can return results in JSOn if you would rather receive something for a program and you would turn your WR to be a rest api endpoint.

GetNodeByName("a path specified", "what to look for"). I don't think it is directly implemented in WR, but since WR is Oscript one can write it if so be it.

Here's a one-liner and a really bad way of doing it with a WR and no source

[LL_REPTAG_'Admin Home:APPUS PLAYING:After cloning-Cleaned.docx' NODEINFO:PATHTOID  /]

What I am doing is I am asking the system for the ID of 'After cloning-Cleaned.docx'

Note if Oscript can't find an exact match you won't get anything by that…

If you don't want a data source, you can ask for the children recarray of the parent and find it just by WR as well.

Not a WR guy by any stretch of the imagination so if there are better methods womeone will help
