Error uploading a document: skipped items

Using Content Server v23.2— a user is unable to add a document to a folder and receives the error: Add version upload error, you are not allowed to perform this action.

The user has assigned access to the parent folder, including "add items" and "add major version". I can add a document to the same folder using my admin account. When testing with other non-admin users, they receive the same error. This issue is only occurring in a lower environment, even though the configurations all look to be the same as the production environment. My team recently upgraded this lower environment to version 23.2. Production is still using v20.4.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

what do the logs say, anything in the Thread or Connect logs ? any Trace logs ?

Thread logs have "?" as the error message. I have an open ticket with OT support and provided them the trace log with more details.

I've identified the issue as something applied to a specific folder. I get the same error with multiple users trying to add a document to that folder, even with "Add" permission specifically applied. Those same users can successfully add documents to other folders without an issue.

Is there a setting that could be applied to a folder that prevents new items from being added? Similar to a reserve (can't be applied to a folder) or a hold?

I would hazard a guess by carefully evaluating what you have and pushing it down. In your screenshot, you show a folder with those permission on the outset look correct but then a user comes in and tries to add a document and is not permitted. When you apply permission,s always choose "This and Sub items".I also would bring up the multi page permission pusher clear access list and re apply and see if it actually fixes i

carbuckle: your mistake is thinking that has something to do with the folder. it doesnt - Read The Error Message

also check those numbers on the left side. you have a document with the same name in that folder. it's hidden or has no perms to see or something.

the error is that the user cant add a new version to the documnet. nothing to do wiht the folder at all
