REST API XMFax Access Credential Question

Hello, we recently installed XMFax in order to utilize the REST API features.

We were provided a link to a REST API Developer website by our pro services engineer: OpenText XM Fax REST API

On this page it says the access URL is https://localhost:8443/faxservice/rest/v1

We replace the localhost with our server name and it appears to connect but when prompted for the credentials, all the ones we've tried don't work.

I assigned the developers their own internal user account, and we've tried creating an admin account within XMFax as well.

I'm hoping you can let us know what credentials are needed and where I can create those credentials for our developer team. REST API isn't something I have any experience with.

I'm not a developer myself. I will make sure to point them to this forum for future questions after I figure out what credentials we need to be using.

Here's a screenshot from the developer's desktop. If there's some documentation that explains this, please let me know. I've looked through the site provided by our pro services engineer but so far haven't found an answer.

In the screenshot, the url is not including the port (8443) like it should. The error page is returned by IIS, which should not be in the flow. Make sure the url have :8443, so they can talk directly with Tomcat (and not IIS with default port 443).

Basic auth is the correct way of sending the credential. See https://developer.opentext.com/ce/products/xm-fax/tutorials/get-started-with-xm-fax-onpremises-soap-web-services/2 for the exact format of the username/password and the type of XM Fax user you want to use (internal user vs site admin vs system admin)

I changed the port to 8443. I missed that one, thanks.

I retried to send a fax and I now get a 404 error, which per your documentation says the fax could not be found. I believe I have the fax included so what else could be wrong?

Why does it return details of a CSS file?
