CWS.jar - We have upgraded our CS 22.1 to 25.1 in Non Production Environment.

Hi Team,

We have upgraded our CS 22.1 to CS 25.1. Coming to issue description. We have created some wbesrvices calls like upload document, Get document which were deployed in Tomcat 9 and with Java 11 to support previous version 22.1.

Now, As we have upgraded to Content Server 25.1. We want to know the steps how we can generate cws.jar support Tomcat 10 and JDK 21.

TC9 will not run the code that OT supplies with a 25 version. You have these options

Retain TC9, run the old cws.jar, and your code as before.CWS hasn't changed for several years, so you should be safe.
In TC 10.1, your JDK probably needs to be JDK 21 and whatever code that used to run should run.

In some places where it is complicated to change setup we have put two TC's on the same machine one will run on 8080 and another will run on whatever avilable port.Nowadays I just run one TC and only resort to multi TC if OTDS is really troublesome on the java VM

my cws.log tells me this

Content Web Services 24.1.0.2033
Java Version: 21.0.4, Eclipse Adoptium
Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM, mixed mode, sharing

try renaming the cws.war and cws.jar and see if it will work for you in 10 as before or after you get the expoded cws in TC10.1 you could find where java is installed on that machine and do

cd cws
jar cf ../cws.jar .

also ask ChatGPT etc etc…

Go to the <OTHOME> and navigate to the webservices directory. Inside you will find the java version of both ecmlink(otsapxecm.war)and cws.jar.

Also try to read up on deprecation notes/possibilities of SOAP code.

Hi Appu,

Thanks for sharing the information. We have deployed CWS.war file in Tomcat 10 webapps folder. Our query is how can we generate a cws.jar file which supports Tomcat 10. When we were in 22.1, we have deployed our webservices in tomcat 9. Attaching tomcat 9. We came to know Tomcat 10 now uses JakrataEE. It will be helpful if you can help us in terms of how we can generate CWS jar file with making required namespace changes.
