Content Server 25.3 error

Question

I installed the 25.1 plugin from the Knowledge Center in Eclipse 2024‑09. However, when I run it, I get the following error:

Error: Could not find or load main class com.opentext.oclipse.vm.process.RemoteOScriptVMProcessCaused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.opentext.oclipse.vm.process.RemoteOScriptVMProcess

Can someone help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi @Wagar - this is often due to running CSIDE as something other than administrator, as Appu flagged.

Alternately: we have seen issues not unlike this when you run a CSIDE version that doesn't line up with your server version. This is because the version of Java shipped with Content Server changed to 21 within the last while, so if you're using a version of CSIDE with a different Java version then classloader issues cause issue.

Steps that I usually take for debugging.

* Make a backup of the Content Server folders on the machine on which I am installing CSIDE. You cannot use the plugin if the OTCS server is not running on this computer 
* Follow the installation of the plugin using Eclipse GUI
* If on windows even though one might be Administrator, invoke the Shortcut and say Run as Administrator.
* If you see hige GB sized dump files usually in <OTHOME> something is wrong always have OT look at it.I just silently remove them
