How to generate a batch of ADNs starting from a specific sequence number?

Question

Is there a way to generate a batch of ADNs starting from a specific sequence number, without manually creating and deleting placeholder items?

For example, given an ADN format like AB-CD-EF-00001, if I want to generate 10 ADNs starting from sequence number 12, I would expect the result to be AB-CD-EF-00012 through AB-CD-EF-00021.

Is there a built-in way to set or override the starting sequence number for a batch, or otherwise control ADN generation to achieve this?

Ideally, I’d like to avoid creating and deallocating earlier sequence numbers just to reach the desired starting point and to not change the system allocated start sequence for the prefix.

Any guidance on configuration (WebReports), APIs, or scripting approaches would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, it was very helpful. I was supposed to use the ADNACTION:CATREGISTER tag along with a sequence number

Look in the ADN section of WR, a few years back, I posted a reply on this forum. I dont have the link. Most engineering projects create a utility form template/form to generate ADN place holders. In one of my Engineering projects, I created a Form and asked the question How many?  and gave them a drop-down consisting of 5/10/50/100/200.The form was necessary so I could tie it to certain business rules, and at the end I used that info to create the project workspaces under a certain folder.

In the new engineering, the start sequence is governed by a Classification(Document Type, they call it). It is a clunky interface, so I have seen solutions that hold more than 150 entries in there to get the desired outcome.I dont think these can be transported so they have to be built by hand in your upward systems.
