We have an Intermedia call centre system that expects to deal with the faxes in form of emails with graphic attachment (preferably PDF).

 

• For incoming faxes, the system plays a role of an email client that would pull the email/fax from the server
• For the outgoing faxes, the system would send the email with fax attachment out to the fax server that would then send the actual fax out.

 

How difficult would it be to integrate this way of operating with XMFAX

For outgoing faxes, we have an email to fax functionnality, so we do support that scenario.

For incoming faxes, do you mean that the external system fetches faxes through POP3/IMAP4 as if it was a mailbox? More details on that would help us give a definitive answer, but if it is indeed POP3/IMAP4, then the answer is no, we don't support that. The recommended way to deliver inbound faxes to external systems is through Webhook notifications. We also have APIs that allow to retreive fax metadata and images.
