Override feature not working

Good day,

I created a module and I am inspecting the WebModule object. I want to make a change and 'Override Features', when I do click that, there isn't any popup being displayed. I possibly need to inject the overrides manually.

Are there any prerequisites for this? Could you kindly assist.

I have attached a txt file which contains the error I get when clicking the functionality.

Hello,

I know that when overwriting a WebNodeAction for example you have to modify the _Init function to remove the original and insert your own action into the registry

Edit: I realized that you are asking about the button in the CSIDE ui, I dont know much about debugging the CSIDE

Are you clicking the link with "Run As Administrator" even though you may be a administrator on machine

Other problems typically

You are anxious of doing Oscript

You create a module and in the throes of making your first code changes

The best approach is make sure you can install the module including restarts

Then once the server i s re-started you should observe module explorer and oscript explorer

If everything goes well your custom module is now available on the oscript explorer tab.

This is where you are writing code perhaps make a small change in one of the objects like a comment

Observe the auto build part of the plugin a blue advancing window.

If you look at the time stamp of your module the .oll part if you are in windows should reflect it

This is indicative of a proper module setup.

Now Orphan an Object as shown in the guide using the :: notation

Once you do that the "Override Features" will come about.

I have been learning about OScript using material from the Learning Portal, which are the labs but I am doing this on my own environment so the suggestion with regards to the approach is something I will keep in mind.

in which case I would really recommend you do the formal OT Dev course and see if anyone in your firm can support / mentor you with the more advanced functionality as this will provide you with a good base to read / follow the more complex code so that you can reuse.

Hi - I know I'm a bit late to this, but I just saw in the attached error file there's a

ModelInformationUnavailableExeption

… which tends to imply that your server isn't running. I've just reproduced this error over here & have opened a ticket to track this internally / see if there's an easy fix to see if the function should in fact be available when the server isn't running, or if the menu option should be disabled when the server isn't running.
