my StreamIN detected the new dsc file but somehow my newly added field is not picking up any value

as title.
i have updated my description file in resource set, updated the SXD file as well. then i upload the SXD file into streamIN and get the newly created field into field folder. i also right click the StreamIN and "setting" to ensure the correct linked the correct description file and correct description ID.

however my new field is not working. i have put log to check and my log always return empty.

Hi there,

Is it only the new field that is not being picked up?
Is the rest of your dsc file working as expected?
Are you sure that you are sending the new field in?
Have you enabled -wsin event_log.txt in your start.arg file to check the event mappings?
Is this RecordIN or FieldIN? (I am assuming RecordIN) in which case you can script around the issue using MATCH and LOG functions.

It may be a good idea to post the DSC file here (anonymously of course) to see if there are any issues there that we can see.

Often problems exist with copying records and playing around with NEWEVENT and INEVENT instructions.

3. yes , i manual added the new data into the .dsi

4. no , i will try it when the server is start.

this is the data that i test , the match "WEBAPI" should able to detect and populated the first field which is "GetPDF" however my log is always show blank/empty

You have two records matching on colliding MATCH commands…… “W” and “WEBAPI".

Think of the system executing the dsc file commands on each and every new line in the input.

You have to set the WEBAPI record definition above the ACCSUMMARY record definition.

Try it out and let us know.

P.S. If you enable the -wsin argument you may notice that the ACCSUMMARY record got hit on the WEBAPI too.

Your concept is correct, it worked after i have move the "WEPAPI" record above to "ACCSUMMARY" record.

Good to hear.

To add any arguments to your start.arg file you should:

Go to platform
Right-click any white-space > Configure Export
Select -wsin argument (from Arguments tab)
Click on wsin row and add a file name

Just for curiosity… you can also script inside the dsc files. E.g.

Found the -wsin and manage to generate the event log and happen to see the log detail.
