Kofax release script for Livelink

My company is in the early stages of implementing Livelink. I am one of the developers who will be responsible for customizing Livelink and currently have the responsibility of installing, testing, and implementing a scanning system to introduce hardcopy documents into the system. Kofax Ascent software has been chosen for this purpose and I installed the Ascent Capture for Livelink release script. I was able to get a simple scanned page with no indexing successfully created in Livelink from a scan station, but now that I have created a batch with index fields based on Livelink attributes, I get an error when trying to release to Livelink. Ascent capture tells me to look in the error log where I find:2000-03-28 23:41:25, 0x00000018, 0, 0x80010024, 0x00000000, 0x00000000,

\Program Files\Ascent\Bin, Release, Station1, 3.20.68, AddDocumentWithID, 0, Livelink returned error number: -2147418076, , Since I have no idea what error number -2147418076 indicates, I don't know where to begin. Any help finding this specific error would be appreciated. We are just now trying to use the KOFAX software as well and are having our own set of problems.I am not sure about the specific case you have reported, but the first thing I would verify that the attribute names are correct. Livelink has an internal name for the attribute and a displayed name; the KOFAX interface uses LAPI and probably wants the internal attribute name when configuring. You should also make sure that all required attributes are being populated.We have an issue with the KOFAX software in that in only seems to understand folders in the Enterprise. It does not recognize projects. Are you aware of a limitation in this area.

Thanks for the suggestions about attribute names and required attributes. I did indeed have some names spelled slightly differently. Unfortunately, when I corrected the spellings, I still received the same error. I will keep looking/trying.Regarding releasing docs into Livelink Projects, I haven't tried that. We have determined that Livelink Projects don't meet our needs for permissions, so we plan to use a folder hierarchy for all of our company projects.Sorry I can't be of any help in that area. I have had similar problems with Livelink and Ascent Capture. I need to know if you have any required attributes or system attributes.Something that has helped me greatly, is to run the release script real time so you can step through the code and know exactly when the error occured.

We're using Kofax with Ascent Capture and the LAPI release script with no problems.....1) Make sure the attributes are named correctly2) Make sure the datatypes of attributes you're setting match.3) Make sure your "Destination" folder in Livelink has the correct attribute category ALREADY APPLIED.4) Make sure you're releasing to the Livelink Server and not a Cache Server.Dave

Some of the comments posted here got me thinking, so I decided to experiment further. I created a category in Livelink with only one attribute that was included (rather than required). I created a new document type in Ascent Capture using the new category and used the existing field already defined in Ascent Capture that matched the single attribute. I was able to successfully scan, index, and release a batch to Livelink using this document type. Then I changed the category in Livelink so that the single field was required (and restarted the server), and when I tried to release to Livelink I got an error (see below).AddDocumentWithID, 4030, Unable to add document name: Un-Defined - 30 'PathFile' G:\Ascent\ImgCache\0000001E.TIF 100402 Try re-releasing the documents., , AddDocumentWithID, 0, Livelink returned error number: 100402, , Is there a problem mapping Ascent Capture fields to required attributes in Livelink?
