Is there a RecordsManagement_Service Object present in Web Service?

Hi ,

I'm trying to use the Record Management Web Service but notice unlike the ususal Document management or Content Service Objects, There is not Service object for Records Management.

E.g.

i can generate a content service object by creating a ContentService_Service Object
i can generate a Document Management Object by creating a DocumentManagement_Service Object

Is there a RecordsManagemenet_Service object that I can use?

Just like a organization exposes CWS RM& PO web services have to be exposed.In windows /IiS one just goes finds the stub under the SDK section of RM/PO or perhaps the Installer puts them right beside the DM websvcs
Notice I said IIS in tomcat or a servlets container you would do the same
These came out in LL 9.7.1 If you need confirmation I Can post Paths and WSDL later

If you have IIS a virtual directory for Record management have to be create since Record management, physical object, classification and les-services all are separate folder under: opentext\webservices\dotnet

the service name is : RecordManagement.svc and you have to configure the web.config accordingly to your environmnet such as (authenticated or not)

1. It seems from the discussion that its possible to deploy Web services in ISS which can be used by Java Application? I always thought it only allows for .net application.

2. I've deployed the les-service-recordsmanagment.war to tomcat but i can't seem to get the http://localhost:8080/les-service-recordsmanagement/services/recordsmanagement?wsdl to work. Is there some additional steps required? Cos the guide does not mention any additional steps .

Sorry, I got the WSDL Link to display on the page to verify that its being deployed.

I imported the recordsmanagementservice-api.10.1.0,jar and javaws jar file into my project.. and added the import statement to my java file but i can't seem to get RecordsManagement_service object.

There should not be any more missing steps right?

Hi Appu,

Thank you for your insights, I've managed to get it working using the technique as mentioned in your attachment.

I've additionally modified it by joining all the WSDL into one web service and repackage it as a War file for deployment purpose.

I've also added the web client services into a seperate file which is compiled and places as a a library in my application. Although this means more work when if the wsdl changes but reduces compiling time when i'm doing development. WSDL should not be changing as often as i compile.

The WSDL's need to communicate to a LL server

Let me know where you are struggling whether in setup aspects or actual code understanding.

Let me know where you are struggling whether in setup aspects or actual code understanding.If its setup read through the webservices link and if it is code just use SOAPUI so you can get a feel for the API.As always I say to everyone the livelink URL(webgui) is the best tool for you to observe(as in many cases all you are doing is the same things you would do in the GUI albeit a programming language
