manipulate search url on "smart ui"

I hope I am in the right forum.

We have a customer with some "Dinosour" system that can only provide us a hard coded link to search in the smart ui.

This is the hardcoded link our customer expects to use from his system (the attribute values may be changed, but the category id is constant):

http://[Server_Name]/OTCS/cs.exe/app/search/FullText_value1/*/Category_22765__value3/120/Category_22765__value5/10010/Category_22765__value8/45784576/Category_22765__value15/anydate/query_id/27276

The problem is that we upgraded the category 22765 in the system and now this link is not working.

I tried applying a nickname to the new category node_id, but i got an error "Nickname cannot be a number".

Also I would like to refrain overriding the core search module in order to redirect to the updated search link.

Is there any way of working with this hard coded category number ?

The category ID is not the problem. What is the error, that you receive?

The category ID does not change, when you upgrade the category. Using nicknames to identify categories is not possible in the search URLs, but it is not needed in your scenario.

What may change, are the names of attributes, which you use in the query. For example, if you add/remove/reorde an attribute, identifiers like "Category_22765__value3" (the "value3" part) may change. You need to update the attribute names in the URL, if they changed.
