How do i assign a GUID on load of Category attribute...

Hi

We like to have a GUID value loaded into one of the Category Attribute, when the user Add Category. I tried Table Look Up Attribute, but it becomes read only for the user and also user need to click in order to populate GUID value. We like to have a Editable Text Attribute, where it loads a GUID value and then user need to allowed to Edit, if he wants. Please let me know...

A screencap of your experience might be helpful here. The OOB Category Types are primitive(String, Integer, Real, Date) .DtreeCore.GUID in SQL shows a type of 'uniqueidentifier' .In any case, once a piece of metadata gets into an object to Edit or changes it the caller needs 'Modify Items' does your uploading user have that? I have seen control as you describe but not in CS easily but I think it acts kind of like a "type ahead" but allows users to change it. Creating a new Oscript attributetype is not that difficult for an experienced oscripter. You may also visit Christopher Meyer's site as I have seen him describe advanced Oscript controls https://kwe.li/otcs-consulting . Table Key and ADN will automatically cascade TKL values if the selection is unique. If a typeahead presents a list to choose from in the GUI the user selects one so in code you also have to simulate the push.
