Should I change hostname after migration of db data for documentum?

Hi I kinda need help!!

I am doing a documentum upgrade, I just migrated the database data from the old system to the new system. However, now my Documentum Docbase service is not starting.

Is it because I need to change the hostname of my new VM ? Please advice. Really need help on this ASAP.

Yes, host name could be one reason. After the DB refresh, proceed with the below steps,

You can definitely try the MigrationUtil to update the hostname entries.

I am moving it from production to UAT so if I change the hostname will it affect production?

Do I change the hostname to the same as PROD?

You need to run the MigrationUtil on the UAT server with old name as PROD and new name as UAT.
Intention is to change the PROD name to UAT name from the DB schema that is moved from PROD.

My concern would be will it affect anything in PROD? Meaning changing the hostname in UAT will then change the hostname in PROD as well? sorry need to clarify this :)

If you are working in UAT environment, this should not have any impact to PROD enviornment. But make sure nothing is connected to PROD. Like UAT env should not be connected to PROD DB, UAT clients should not be connected to PROD CS… etc.
