Hello,

we have a development server with a lot of single projects (PageOut + StoryTeller layouts) stored within CAS. We handle deployment with Export-Files. So we open a project export and deploy with ControlCenter…

We have now the requirement to transfer all projects just to a new server.
(so a 1:1 new environment) with same Exstream Installation - Version 23.3.

Is there any way to do (better then open and pack every project)?

Hi there - great question.

You should look into the scripting tools (ss_scm.exe and ss_deploy.exe) to help you create new services and deploy them via script. Mixed with standard Powershell script you can also change startup mode and service account at the same time. Scripting deployment is good practice anyway and can save you a lot of time on initial set-up and further development moving on. You can also script in other actions (say housekeeping or start.arg file manipulation) along the way.

If your CAS is on a separate server then you just need to point to that. If on the same server then you could look into a DB copy to the new server.

There may be a new Exstream version coming in September (25.3) so you may wish to wait for that.

With 'copy the CAS folder' you mean copy the hole database tables?
So after the new installation is finished we should overwrite DB?
